Do you think teenagers should have privacy?
I am answering this with a yes/no . I am a teen myself 15 years old and I do think parents should monitor what the child does on the computer and it doesnt have to go to the extreme to having the password but just like " Can I see your page, " Or " Let me see who your sending your messages too " and if its some random guy you don't know then skim it to see if there is anything inappropriate . They can add their child as friends on myspace facebook twitter etc. I have my mom as a friend on facebook and myspace and I don't really put anything racy on the internet and stuff like that im pretty internet safe and if she suspects something she just ask me and I am honest . I think when a parent invades the privacy too much is when the child becomes more secretive . I also think parents have the right to check their childs room when they suspect somethings up but not reading their journals and stuff just for the kicks. So I guess I say privacy in moderation . We arent adults yet and we need to be guided .

side question :
Should parents freak out when they find condoms, birth control , etc in their childs room ?

I think in complete honesty , you can't stop teens from doing teen stuff as in sex its bound to happen but atleast you know no one is getting pregnant or getting infections around here !

I think so. I think my parents have no business in seeing what I do on my computer or who I'm sending messages too, and my parents agree with me on that.
And no, parents should not freak out when finding condoms or similar things, but I sort of get why they might depending on the kids age.

Yes, I think parents should monitor their teens on the computer. I don't think parents should freak out when they find condoms, birth control, etc in the teen's rooms.

Hmm i dunno how well i can answer this.. haha. I mean, my mom and I are more like roommates than mother/daughter. she really doesn't moniter me, and I don't give her a reason to. I'm not really that racy, I mean yes I'm a teen with a boyfriend, but I'm not some crazy porn star or whatever. I don't mind a little control, I mean if your a minor, your parents have a right to moniter what you do (to an extent).

And i agree with the condom/birth control thing. Just let your kids have em, because like you said, if they are messing around like that, at least they have protection right? and if the moms and dads get freaked out by condoms, don't you think the kid will decide its better not to have them, and then come home pregnant?

Have you ever wondered why your parents worry about your teen years?
Most people want a secure future for their children. That can`t happen when a child wanders from being open and honest, and becomes secretive.
The reasons for the secrecy usually are, sexual experimentation and trying the drug scene.
Parents are aware that your experiment can wind up with a new baby in the family, or that you may run afoul of the law.
I hate to say it, but most times the older folks know more than you do, and they love you enough to protect you at all costs. LET THEM.

*U seem to me to be a pretty mature kid
for yr age ....... & u sure will make a good
parent in future ....!

Well, as for yr Q, i fully agree with you when
u say that : ''So I guess I say privacy in moderation .
We aren't adults yet and we need to be guided ''.

Side Q : No ..... the parents need not freak out
when they find condoms, birth control , etc
in their child's room ...... cause at-least they will
know that their child is not ignorant about these
things & will take the necessary precaution ......if
need be ...!!~☺
