Two years ago someone posted a video of me dancing really embarassingly on Facebook and I am really really pissed about this. Ik who posted it.

Unless you can show that the video was taken in a private situation without your knowledge, it's his to post as he sees fit. Move on, it's already out there.

You'd have to prove that you had an "expectation of privacy." If this was in public or at a party you don't have a case. Basically, the person would have to be spying on you.

You'd also have to prove you were damaged in someway. Damages are usually considered physical injury, financial loss, professional defamation, or extreme emotional torment (being "really mad doesn't count. We're talking seeing psychiatrists…).

You'd also have to figure out who posted it.

I don't think you have a case.

you can sue anybody for anything but unless you can prove some kind of damage, you don't have much to stand on here.

Of course you could always bluff him and threaten him with legal action if he doesn't remove it.

This video has been out for two years, and you're only just now finding out about it; so then obviously this embarrassing video has been of little consequence. You haven't been denied a job because of it or anything like that and it hasn't had any real negative impact upon your life. So, right there, that would give your case no real teeth. Depending upon where this video was taken and under what circumstances, you would have to prove that you had an expectation of privacy. I have the funny feeling that the circumstances surrounding this would suggest you had no real expectation of privacy. In short, yeah, you can sue, but will you win? I really doubt it. Just try to maintain your composure in the future and not act so embarrassingly when you're in public. Live and learn, right?
