Your question is..."IF THERE IS a God", why religion????
"Religion" is defined as "belief", so if one "believes" in God, then religion is faith, oberservance, worship, service or practicing your faith. P.S. I would be interested in knowing who your "VALIDATING" source is and what his credentials are. Ads |

?? I'd be interested in what YOUR answer is, because to me it's a meaningless question. If there is a GOd, OF COURSE there would be religions. All Gods in human creation seem to be insistent upon humans worshiping them. So much so that it almost seems to be part of the definition of God "One who requires worship from his human flock"

I imagine that God told humans to go spread his word. Then the humans that were spreading the word had different interpretations so the different religions came to be. It seems to be common for people to slightly change things. It doesn't mean they necessarily do it maliciously all the time, they may just remember things differently for whatever reason.
