Can employers look at Facebook or MySpace pages when screening for a interview or job?

Not sure, but change your name in the meantime! This way they won't be able to find you even if they did a search.

Yes or one of your co workers may stumble upon your page and rat you out. I recomment not having one if you want to keep your job because it is a fact that people have lost their jobs because of a myspace or facebook page.

of course they can. myspace and facebook pages are available to everyone. so make yours private or friends-only so only people you approve can look at the page!

anything you post on those sites is public and anyone is allowed to look at it. Why would employers be any different from anyone else?

The internet is not exculsive to you kids. Most people with functioning brain capacity can use it.
Makes you think twice about posting all those kissy faces, doesn't it? |

Yes. The only thing I have on my facebook or myspace page that could hurt me is the fact that I'm in the arts; some employers look at people like me and think that we'll quit the minute a gig comes along. It doesn't matter though, since I always disclose this anyway.
Keep your MySpace and Facebook pages free of dirt my son. |
