Professional Wrestling: Why do people still get behind Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson?
"The Great One Has Returned....FINALLY!" Let's write down what Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has done since he "Came Home":

Feb 11, 2011: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson "Came Home" to talk about Hosting Wrestlemania 27 and Call out John Cena.
Wrestlemania 27: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson had the focus on him for Wrestlemania 27 as nobody cared about the WWE Championship match since WWE clearly handed The Miz the belt so the entire focus would be on John Cena Vs Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
Nov. 14, 2011: After setting the challenge for John Cena at Wrestlemania 28, "Never Before, Never Again" was set at Survivor Series as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson & John Cena planned on facing The Miz & R-Truth. Afterwards spamming more Twitter Hashtag remarks such as #BootsToAsses and #CenasLadyParts.
Survivor Series Nov. 20 2011: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson got carried through the John Cena & Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Vs The Miz & R-Truth.
Wrestlemania 28: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson gets carried through "Once In A Life Time", At least this match had worth while build up and was a fresh idea.
Royal Rumble Jan. 27 2013: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson got handed the WWE Championship after being carried through his match Vs. CM Punk.
Monday Night RAW Jan. 28 2013: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson shows up once before the Main Event Of Wrestlemania Rematch for the WWE Championship that he was handed against John Cena.
Wrestlemania 29: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson gets carried through one of the most unnecessary Main Event Rematches in recent Wrestlemania history, to obvious lose the WWE Championship to John Cena so he could once again LEAVE.

Please explain to me why people still get behind Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson?

All he does is Fake through a couple "What The Rock Is Suppose To Do" Segments tossing out Twitter Hashtags with that stupid grin that he shows everywhere, then packs his bags and takes his ball home until the pay-per view to be carried through yet another match on his name alone.

He entertains people, not too many fans expect him to come back full time, because he is in his 40s and is now an actor, but they appreciate what he brings when he does come back!

For the most part, I like the Rock, I don't think he should of been on the cover of WWE 2k14 though, that should of been Cena, Punk, and Bryan!

Because he has worked his ass off for our entertainment for years. He can't come back more often because of his hectic schedule, he doesn't even need to come back but when he does, it's for the fans and for the business.

WWE's ratings have been poor for the past few years but whenever The Rock is there the ratings instantly go up.

How people can disrespect The Rock for all what he has done blows my mind.

He has a highly successful acting career and does not NEED WWE anymore but he comes back to show that he hasn't forgotten where he came from.

The basic answer... You hate him... millions love him.

Long answer...

"Rock had the focus on him at WM27"
Yes, that's why it had a million buys. Have you seen a WM crowd?? They're not the biggest Miz or Cena fans. Without Rock that would have been the most dull WM ever, by a long shot.

"Survivor Series Nov. 20 2011: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson got carried"
Uhhh what match were you watching?? Rock was flawless and entertaining in that match. "You've still got it" ring a bell?

"Wrestlemania 28: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson gets carried"
Cena has never carried anyone in a match.

"Royal Rumble Jan. 27 2013: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson got handed the WWE Championship after being carried through his match Vs. CM Punk."
So a Punk fan. Rock was no more handed an entertainment belt than anyone. He was chosen to hold it for what he brings to the company like anyone else. He wasn't there all the time but if you see the TV numbers the night after it's a perfect example why they wanted him to hold the belt.

"The most unnecessary Main Event Rematches in recent Wrestlemania history"
...The 1+million buys made it necessary.

What don't you understand about Rock being a part timer? Something which he earned the right to do. Why haven't you had a go at Taker at the same time? Why should his fans who are entertained by him and have been for years turn on him because he has an awesome new job and still makes time to come back now and then despite being the top grossing actor in 2013.
Rock has the biggest fanbase of any wrestler past or present which means a lot of people want to see him and are willing to pay money to see him.
If Rock over shadows anyone it's because he's a bigger star... it's what WWE is all about. Don't act like the current roster haven't had their fair time... they're just not very good.
No one could hold the crowds attention in a 20 minute promo like The Rock had to do dozens of times in the Cena build up.
Rock has had some of the greatest matches in history, his last 4 were probably the worst of his career but when you consider 7 years out, 8 matches in 10 years, little preparation, his bulking up, his injury, having to get chucked into 30 minute matches, it's fair enough. He could still put on a great match if he came back, especially if you eliminate some of those factors, and put him with someone he's had great matches with i.e Brock, Taker, HHH.
Rock's said he might be back for next year... Can't wait!
