Is America getting more Racist?

Yes. Racism is (one of) the latest fads, and the Teabag Taliban is milking it for everything they can. Just look at all of the stupid questions and answers here. It's common for people here to refer to The President as things like "colored" and "monkey". And then we get stupid questions like "Is using a BLACK pen racist?"

Curious. We elected a black man to the presidency of the United States---not once, but TWICE. And, is it NOW we are considered to be becoming MORE racist? Blacks make up 16% of the population. If ALL of them voted for Obama---which they did NOT---Obama would have suffered the very WORST election defeat in the history of this nation. A whole lot of people-----with a skin color that was NOT black-----voted for President Obama. There ARE racists in this country. And, a LOT of them hate white people.

Not really. The internet has given a louder voice to the fools and bigots. They used to have to stand on a corner and shout. Or gather in a group with hoods. The anonymity gives them more courage. But they were and always will be there. Its sometimes a scream for attention. A pitiful plea for any kind of interaction. But usually its just ignorance and religious prompted hatred for anyone not JUST like them. I believe it is tribal based neanderthal thinking. Interbreeding will eventually kill off the most virulent.

Cosndiering all the black on white crime and other things coming from black leaders, yes it is. Only it is blacks being prejudiced against whites. After the election of 2008and even before Obama was inaugurated, there were several cases of blacks attacking whites while yelling "We have the power now".

This was exactly what Martin Luthor King Jr was afraid of happening, as soon as the blacks felt liberated they were going to take vengeance for even imagined slights because of memories of real injustices.

America is experiencing an increase in racist behaviour and attitudes. This is to be expected when large numbers of army officers return from the battlefield and inform the public of the horrors of the enemy. America is feeling isolated and vulnerable at the moment and is hitting out at the usually suspects but I am confident you guys will heal yourselves and resume you pluralistic values as soon as those violent influences and tendency's can be controlled.
