Is nursing a Good Choice?
I have always had a passion for beauty fashion and makeup and I always dreamt of working in something with beauty but then i realized that it doesn't pay very much. but I also realized that I love science and the health field and traveling so I figured why not become a travel nurse and combine 2 things I love the most besides 60 an hour is beautiful and Cosmetology's pay doesn't even come even come close, buts it's not about the money it's just I have big plans for my future and so much I want to do and achieve , is there any way to combine both ?

Nursing is not an easy 4 year degree. Very competitive to get into schools.
How were your ACT / SAT scores? I would say it's just about as hard as getting an engineering degree. Ads |

Nursing gives good pay and in the future, you may be able to work just a few days a week and get $60-80k a year. BUT remember that it's a grueling job. You're faced with depressed, sick patients tubed and wired to machines, you're gonna face changing peoples' I&O's (basically their urine & poop), cleaning saliva and barf in some cases, piercing people's skin with needles, etc.
What I'm trying to say that it isn't the beautiful Nightingale image that you may think. There's a travel nurse that comes to my house occasionally and just does some checking on vitals--that's ok. But I'm not sure how they get to that point (you may have to go through the dung and barf series to get there). I have a friend who is a nurse and works as a nurse while working part time as a social media coordinator for publicity agency on the side. It can work, you know. But you've got to have a lot of determination. |
