The facebook event page calls this a "formal event" and I have no idea what to wear. Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

something similar to what someone would wear to work. Nice black or grey slacks, black belt with a fitted button down tucked in to the pants and nice leather shoes.

"Formal" usually means a suit and tie.

Suit and tie. Make sure it fits you properly. And please have it pressed. look crisp and polished including your shoes. trim your nails, nose hair, brush your hair.also, put a little hand lotion on your nail to soften the cuticles so they wont look roughed up. You'll look ready to impress. Make sure your socks aren't faded. Crisp knot in your tie. The bottom of your tie should always hang to the middle of your belt. Never button the bottom button of your suit jacket-ever. have fun!
