Instagram connected to Facebook friends?

Okay so I have two instagram accounts. One is a personal account and one is an inspirational account, I also have a Facebook but I didn't connect my inspirational account to my Facebook. But anytime one of my Facebook friends gets an instagram I'm notified in the "news" section that they've joined. But today one of my Facebook friends followed my inspirational account and I'm trying to be anonymous to my friends or people I'm aquatinted with. So basically I don't want people to know I have this account. Could Facebook somehow connected to my inspirational instagram. How did he find out about it or is it just coincidentally? I'm confused and don't want anyone to know I have this account. It's just a personal thing.

Most likely one of your friends saw you like a picture on your inspirational account from your personal account on there newsfeed and well was probably interested in following that account. Now you could also check on your inspirational account to see if that account is connected with Facebook. Either that or this person anonymously found this account and followed.
