Facebook app on iPhone 4 in another country?

I am going to Mexico when it is my best friend's birthday and I'm not allowed to bring my laptop but I am allowed to bring my phone which has the facebook app so I can write Happy Birthday on my friend's wall, I don't know my cell phone plan exactly but does anyone know generally if there is a charge for using that app in another country on wifi or not? Sorry, I am having toruble wording this but if anyone knows thanks!

Well, there are 3 options:

1. If on WiFi, it uses the internet, and if Facebook isn't blocked by some firewall, it'll work.

2. If on GDN/HSDPA/3G (4G isn't available in Mexico) it'll work, but you will eb charged roaming costs for using the mobile data network which isn't cheap to say the least.

3. If you have neither of the above, it won't work as your phone requires a working data connection for apps.

My educated guess is that option 1 and 2 are the most likely and as such it will work.
