Question about changing my Facebook notifications!!!?

When I change my Facebook notifications (by removing the check marks in the boxes) does that mean that I will not get anymore e-mails? I do not want to receive emails from Facebook but I do want to be notified on the Facebook page, so by removing the checks am I preventing email notifications and notifications on Facebook? Or am I just preventing email notifications, which is what I want!?

You wont get emails sent to you, but you will be notified on Facebook.
