It makes them feel popular. The more likes you have the more friends you have. I hate Facebook and Twitter.

It's what makes them feel happy. If a girl posts a picture, the more likes the more pretty she thinks she is. The more likes on a post on Facebook makes them feel like they are correct and if its a funny status, funny. People also enjoy getting 'Followers' because it makes them feel popular as well as they do on likes.
