yeah...ive heard this too when i was a kid, but i guess its all BS. hw can u see stars? i mean, even at te bottom of the well ud still be looking at the sky and the sky is all bright from the sun, right?
but if u slipped and fell into a dry well, ud probably hav stars, birds and stuff twittering and revolving all around you, like in the cartoons. |

Not really. Stars are visible because it contrasts a night (dark) sky. The night means that the you are in the earth's shadow, or same outward direction and the emiting sunlight which is "blinding".

No because even though you are in a dark environment there is still sunlight outside, hiding the stars. When it is night time above the well then you may be able to see the stars
