Do people really have that many friends on facebook?

People tend to have 200+ friends on facebook. Are these really all your friends or just people that you meant once and you add it onto facebook?

It depends I think. For me when I joined Facebook I added everyone i knew at all my schools, worked with etc and that was over 500 people. I then realised that I didnt actually talk to most of them so deleted those people. Even now on my facebook it shows 137 friends but I only actually talk to about 10 of them if that.

Everyone else i know i normally just give them a call if i want to meet up.

My daughter has about 200 friends. She KNOWS 99% of them!
She went to several schools, worked, has her relatives, youth group friends & has a few that are actually old friends of mine that she found (they are the ones she doesn't know).
Some of her friends have people that are just added for the count... that's what she reckons anyway.

There are many people, on Facebook, Myspace, YouTube -- whatever social networking site you can name, that for whatever reason go around pointlessly adding people to their friends list that they don't need; people that they won't ever talk to. It's actually very common.

Yeah. I have more than 800 friends on facebook, and I know all of them.

Even if I met him once, I can still add him.

Also, I have travelled a lot and been to more than 10 different schools in several different countries, so I know a lot of people.

no most of da poeple jst add and accept others so they can have alotta friends!! if they hav 650 they probibly know only 300 or less!!

Okay i've got 421 friends.. 95% I know them, from primary schooling , high school and going out meeting all these people

but in actual fact, if you wanted to spot someone who actually adds randoms all you gotta do is look @ how frequent they add friends and look and the numbers...

I know for a fact indonesian people add me all the time randomly so that accounts for 5%
