Facebook timeline query?

I'm going to get Facebook timeline because everyone gets reverted to it anyway, i was just wondering if i got it now would i have the chance to remove old status' ? I went through a darker stage of my life and expressed things that were appropriate for the time but i don't want other people to be able to look back on..
