Is it sad that I only have an iPad 2?
My dad took me shopping for an Xmas present and I said I wanted an iPad. I found one for $450 so dad bought it for me. It's good and it does the job but I just found that its the second oldest. I don't see anything wrong with it being 2 generation but what do you think.

I have the iPad 2 as well and my friend has the iPad 3. They are very similar and they kinda do the same thing. By the way the whole retina display thing is WAY overrated, it's honestly not that much different from a normal screen. An iPad 2 is fantastic and more than enough to use on a daily basis Smile

Would you be surprised if I told you I had an IPAD 1st gen?

Lots of users of IPADS have 2nd generation IPADS. Most of the accessories for 3rd generation work fine with 2nd generation, and have many of the features that people enjoy.

The main differences people notice is that the resolution, process, and camera is a bit better on 3rd generation.

Apple says that the differences are:

iPad 2 has:
1. Screen resoultion of 1024x768
2. A5 processor
3. Camera resolution of 960x720
4. Bluetooth 2.1
5. 3G Data only on Cellular models
6. No Siri

New iPad (3rd gen) has:
1. Retina Display with resolution of 2048x1536 (4x the pixels)
2. A5X processer with quad-core graphics (the X)
3. Much improved iSight camera with 5 megapixels, tap to focus, face detection, 1080p video recording, etc.
4. Bluetooth 4.0
5. 3g & 4G LTE Data on Cellular models
6. Siri & voice dictation
7. AirPlay mirroring of video (to Apple TV)

The short version is that if the 2nd Generation IPAD does what you want it to do, then great Smile Lots of people buy the 2nd generation ones because they are a little less expensive.

im from america and i dont see anything wrong with having an ipad 2, i have an ipod 4, and im 14 btw. a LOT of people in my school have iphones and i want one soooo badly, but im not getting one till i can pay for it. i dont know about you, but at my school its weird if you dont have a phone at all which i dont. i know 10 year old with iphones and let me tell you, theyre annoying as hell. my neighbor is 10 and has an iphone and he was soooo much nicer before he got one

but to answer your question, no its not sad

and dont listen to all those douche bags calling you spoiled, they need to see the 13 yr old with an iphone 5s and then called them spoiled

What's wrong with having an iPad 2? I have it and it's great. Just because it's not the newest doesn't mean it isn't as good.
