How do you feel about pit bulls?... (if you hate them maybe you should read this.)?

I believe it is the owner. My problem is that these day Pitts are SO popular that many many inexperienced dog owners own them now. I think there are many breeds that are particularly strong, or intelligent, or dominant that need experienced owners. When I see ANY dog at the dog park.. I look at the owner and their attention and command of their dog. WAY too often, I see Pitt owners that are negligent and are not in control of their dog... and ready to fight anyone that says anything about it.
So, I've seen some real problems! The things I've seen have made me want to avoid pitts. I know it is the owner....

Well thanks for letting me know what you know, truth be told I really don't care what you know. I live in Coles Cty., Illinois and first I heard of it, another thing I don't believe half of what I read.Now if I saw it with my own eyes, different story. No, I do not like pit bulls can't even say I have seen one that was a good looking dog, however I don't purchase a dog because of what someone tells me about the breed. I would do research on my own and go from there. I do believe that every dog should be given a chance and that includes all breeds. Since I do love dogs maybe if they were the only breed in the world I might consider having one, no on second thought I'd just get a cat.

I don't have a problem with them assuming they are bred properly and owned by the right person. 95% of them are poorly bred unfortunately, so most of them should be culled, and breeders should start over.
