Is he playing a game or does he actually like me???? Just friends? It's confusing! :( ???

I don’t mind staying friends at all, but on the other hand I don’t mind being with him either.

Everytime I needed him, he was there…I never had to wait. He always said sorry if he couldn’t make it the few times cause of his work and asked for next time.

He was pretty much gone for like a whole year with work and I was busy with my mom and being sick, we barely even crossed paths. Little did we probably both knew a whole year went by and NOTHING happened between us. Not talking, no poking, no nothing. So it stopped.

When he and I started talking again after that year for a bit...a while later he emailed if he could ask me one of those awkward ones and yet funny at the same time type of questions. He's been wondering for quite sometime so he just wanted to throw it out there. I said shoot, he asked "Do you have a crush on me?" When I said no (getting to the just of it) he said he was relieved that I didn't have a crush on him.

He still does the brushing against me, poking thing, actually having a normal conversation (initiates it 65% of the time) ALWAYS looks to me in the eyes…never breaks eye contact I swear.

On the downfall though:
He ignores me in front of his friends…not once looks at me.
He told me he doesn’t want to hurt me either (earlier this year about me hurting him…but he never said anything) and then what seems like alot of times he ignores or doesn't even look at me at all. Just passes right over me. Then tells me he doesn't want to lead me on.

I also told him last month THINKING maybe me as a girl has to do it...in case he is shy with the girl he ACTUALLY likes... that I may have a small “thing” for him, but I am not even 18 yet (will be in a week) and making wiser decisions in life, but to please find someone else if he's thinking about it. The message was a bit longer, but that was the just of it. Me? It takes me a LONGER time than the average girl to actually like someone. Easy a year and a half. I mean really, He can find any girl and be fine I have no doubt.

The next time I saw him, he invited me and my friend (she couldn't make it because of her work) to a movie and I said yes. Him and 11 people or friends showed to the movie and sat in the one row...He could have sat anywhere, but sat right next to me and shared his food.

I had this Ask.fm thing on facebook but only HE can see it (seeing if he took the bait, again maybe he's shy) and said stuff like
"Do you like anyone?" and "I miss you boo! " and "Your first kiss was with (his name) wasn't it? " and "You just don't want to admit it do you? That's OK I understand "
But over text denied that he did it, even though I KNOW it was him

He told people that I loved him like 3 years ago...today I see ALOT of improvement in him that even his own friends are surprised by it. Not so cocky anymore at all or a know it all.

I don't get him, please help

I think he probably likes you as a friend, and might even possibly like you as more than a friend, but is not interested in taking it anywhere else right now.
