Facebook Timeline related question?
I was wondering if timeline on facebook is going to be mandatory for everyone sometime in the future?
and If I get it, will I be able to get rid of it and get my old profile back?

Yes Timeline is mandatory & is being rolled out as we speak & no, no turning back from it.
