Why is it so hard to stay friends with your ex-lover?

We were in love for a year and after that everything turned so rocky. We were in a long-distance relationship. He told me that I am bothering him, but he still read my messages. This guy was confusing because he told me that I am kind and sweet just two days ago, so I thought he still likes me but yesterday when I mentioned that I can come and live where he is, he turned out so outrageous and blocked me on Facebook. He just doesn't want to talk to me anymore because I was getting too serious. Well, how come we can't stay as friends? Why did he block me completely?

You came on too strong. He knows you like him. And you know u like him. Obviously yall can't be friends. Move on. Make new friends.
