My parents want to monitor my twitter, is it worth it?

I have been wanting to get a twitter, but my parents are very protective. I am 14 and a very good kid but I am afraid of some things my friends post. Is it worth it? My parents say they understand my friends do bad things and it is not my fault. Should I trust them and get a twitter or should I wait 2 years to get one unmonitored . They will probably forget to check after a while right?

At 14 you shouldn't even have a twitter account

At that age you're not interesting enough to follow and anyone that does is just sad and pathetic
And you should be out having a life instead of following someone else
