Are Conservatives planning to stop using racist language when talking about minorities?

I understand both sides of this one and am still not certain where I fall...basically I'm just looking at it as a commercial that makes no difference to me in the long run.

As for racist language, I read Mr. West's post and have no problems with it at all, nor did I notice ANY racist language whatsoever. When last I checked, you were still permitted to have an opinion in this nation as well.

I think it bothers many conservatives because it came across as pushing the "diversity" issue quite strong. America does not have an "official" language, but it is common knowledge that our communication is in English as it has been since our founding. The odd part is that many push the concepts of providing things in different languages to those who come here not speaking English. Years ago, when immigrants arrived, most took pride in learning English as a sign of their commitment to their new home. Now it seems like the general thought is that America needs to adapt to each culture that arrives, not the other way around.

Your side, you comments, would certainly be true if the intent is as you say. Which I personally believe to be the case. But the other side has a point also, if the intent was to actually mock a very hot topic in our country right now. As those offended seem to believe was the intent. I think it could have all been cleared up yesterday as soon as the confusion arose. They should have released a statement along the lines of what their intent was. Problem solved, but, they didn't, they hesitated, why?

I am Colombian and I love the USA.

I speak Spanish and I live in Colombia, but because of the same reason that my parents learnt Spanish to come to Colombia (Colombia is also a melting pot), I would learn English in the USA because it is the language of the majority, of the constitution, of the ANTHEM, etc. and claiming that we have to step on the national values just because we are a "melting pot" practically states that there are no American values or culture to stand on and promote. Well... you look at Rocn & Roll, Country music, Christianity, Christmas, Halloween, English langauge, Thanksgiving Day, Basketball or AMERICAN FOOTBALL that is ALL AMERICAN.

And if I went to the USA I would call myself the most patriotic of all, because your country is amazing, but you do not value for the sake of "multiculturalism".

uhhh the song needs to be sung in English just as any other Country's anthem would need to be sung in their language. If that makes me and others racist, then, so be it..it also makes TRUE Americans

Why should we bother?

I am quite sure that no matter what we say, you will say it is Dog Whistle for racism.
