Social media policy investigation?

Social media policy investigation?
So I'am receiving a disciplinary investigation for breaking my companies guidelines on social media policy, basically I can't bad mouth them on social media such as Facebook, Twitter etc
I recently posted a Facebook status about "wondering what job satisfaction is" and someone from work saw this, told my head manager and now I am receiving an investigation.
Basically my argument is as follows:
I did not mention my employer at all nor does it mention my employer anywhere on my profile.
I could've easily been talking about a part time job I do on the side, a job I did for a relative etc, there's no proof that it's about my company.

So my questions are, with the above information, do you think the investigation will go in my favour and also do I have a right to know who told my head manager. Any help/opinions would be appreciated Smile

Many many employers are now doing this. They will assume that anyone who knows you will know where you work. No they will not tell you and we have no idea what will happen.

You don't have to mention where you work. Anyone who knows *you* knows where you work. It's still badmouthing. Not rocket science.

My guess is more than one "ratted" on you - but why are you friending folks from work AND if you MUST gripe why are those posts public? Better yet if you want to anonymously gripe - create another profile specifically for griping.

You will never know who ratted.

It will not go well. Companies are taking social media very seriously, and as a rep of YOUR company - you failed.

If you didn't the mention name of your employer/ company then it count as general. But If investigation will run under your company then it depends on your employer mood. Because everyone know the quotes-"Boss is always right(even he/she is wrong.)"
