Internet problems? Maybe chrome?

Im not sure what is causing this, but lately my internet has not been working well. At first, i would simply lose connection. I thought it was a router problem or something, but it seems to be working now. However, a few hours later, my computer occasionally decides to go offline on steam and stop loading webpages on the internet. Chrome gives me the error unable to access website or something like that. Meanwhile, it says i have connection to my internet still. Then, it'll start working again for a while with no problems. And, again, after a little, it will stop. Not sure what the problem is, any ideas? Note, i am using chrome and win 7, not that the last part matters much.

Hmmmm......

There are a few possibilities. The most common are listed herein.
1) If you're using a wireless connection, there might be some interference messing up your connection. Look for new things that you've bought and brought home, if its a new problem.
2) Check the electrical plug on the wireless access point or router or modem (in some cases these three distinct technologies may be bundled into a single device). Look for a loose plug that as a truck rumbles by outside or the kids jump up and down on the floor causes the electrical plug to jiggle and periodically lose electrical power
3) If you're connected wirelessly, try plugging in with an Ethernet cable. If the problem still happens, call your ISP.

I had that problem with Chrome. I tried unistalling it and reinstalling it and it fixed it temporarily, so eventually i switched to FireFox and haven't had a problem.

But. It also may be an issue with your router. try resetting that (unplug it and let it sit for 30sec-1min) and try connecting to the internet.

If all else fails, try restarting your computer and running an anti-virus. Most of the time its a simple problem, but sometimes it could be a virus. I would recommend MalwareBytes (http://www.malwarebytes.org) if the problem persist.
