Connecting my Gateway desktop to the internet...?
I just bought a Gateway SX2110G desktop computer - my question is this: if I connect it to my internet via ethernet cable to my modem (to identify and connect to my network), will I then be able to disconnect the ethernet cable and still access the internet without it being directly connected to my modem at all times?

Maybe yes, if the desktop has wireless, which from glancing at the web page I think it has...

-AND- if the -modem- has wireless, which you didn't mention.

Your best bet is to call your ISP tech support. If it's doable then they can walk you through the whole process.
