The better way is to provide content that is most suitable in different parts like a series of how to things etc depending on the niche of your site. You can have internal links relevant to the content user is viewing and make them to visit some other pages.
If you site is mainly blog, it is common to have high bounce rates as most visitors come to blog just to read the article on the landing page.

Having good content is the primary way to reduce bounce rate. Moreover provide a clean navigation and work on improving website loading speed by using caching and anti-malware.

Hi Cassandra,

Having high bounce rates doesn't necessarily mean it is bad.

Bounce Rate means that when someone visited your page and leaves without viewing any other pages. One way to see it is that people visited your page and didn't see anything they want. Another way to see it is that your page provided exactly what they are looking for, read it and answered their question. The amount of time spent on your website will give you more information on whether the bounce rate is good or not. If they spent a long time on your website will probably support the latter hypothesis.

First, you should also find out the pages people are visiting when they "bounce" (leave) your page. If people are leaving your page after visiting one of your articles, then to reduce your bounce rate, I think you should provide better content for people to read. If they are landing on your home page then leave, you might want to work on your home page to make it more professional or give visitor a feel that they can trust you.

If it is the latter where people found your amazing article that answers their quesiton, to reduce the boucne rate, maybe you can include hyperlinks to other articles you've written. Add widgets/plugins/apps or do it manually to include "Related Articles" and link to them. So if people like your article, they can also read articles related to it.

Hope this helps!

Enjoy!
