Read up on seo, don't expect immediate results, the search engines do have submission forms that can help get you into the search results, but showing up on page 20 is not much better than no listing.
You can get indexed without filling in forms by having backlinks from a few other sites that the search spiders are already visiting, these links from other sites are important for getting decent search ranking, as is quality original content with regular updates.

Don't rely completely on your submission. Also, don't submit too often, or you might be mistaken as spam even if you're not . Also, Google and other search engines will eventually crawl and index your website. Patience is the name of this game. I don't submit any more, but when I first did I used Attracta. It came as a package deal with a hostgator account.
