How do I change my YA profile pic?

I've already tried going to edit profile preferences, but I only get the options to use the little gray dude or my non existent Facebook pic. How do I upload my own?
I was more asking about how to use a photo. I see plenty of people have photos, but can't figure out how to upload one myself.

Yahoo no longer provides avatars however you can create one from other free sites see the links below.If you are on wireless you must wait until you are on a computer.
Choose either a cartoon or a photo avatar you had saved to your pc.
Create a personal avatar below not a moving or large one, right click and save it to your computer pc.
Check the first one to make a cartoon of your own photo.

Close and reopen your browser or reboot. and your avatar should be showing If your avatar isn't showing try resizing it to make it smaller.
