Waste of time! Hobby suggestions?
Lately, any free time I have is wasted. By this, I mean that I come home from school, and besides homework, and dinner, I waste all of my time, just sitting in my room on the laptop I'm using to type this, among a few other things, like:

-Listening to the radio
-Reading
-Trying to do creative writing
-Answering questions on Y!A
-Trying to draw
-Texting/using social media

I just basically listed out all of my hobbies, and I need something productive and fun to do. I'm not asking for a list of 'things to do when you're bored' I'm looking for some legit suggestions, tips, and tricks; based on what I've told you, or your own experience.

Please, any answers appreciated

You could play video games, or get friends together and play board games, or sports or something.

If you're looking for something more educational,
you could teach yourself some basic programming and do some cool stuff with that. Or if you have the tools, learn some circuitry/woodworking. Idk. I just stick to video games lol

Are you unhappy with what you're doing now?

If you're old enough, did you ever consider a job?

You could just try to better hone your skills of your current hobbies. Creative writing and drawing can be productive and may even lead to a future career as a journalist/writer or graphic artist if you're passionate enough.

I've recently tried taking up guitar because of the music I listen to. You said you like listening to the radio so why not learn an instrument or to sing?

Reading isn't a waste of time either. Don't feel like you have to do something else if you're still happy reading. Look up some classical literature or poems, it will help you increase your vocabulary and you'll be ahead in reading for school. Reading old poems is something I want to get around to because I didn't appreciate literature in school.

If you like music, or think you might like telling stories, try getting into audio recording. All you need to start is a mic and some recording software. With today's Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) software, it is pretty easy to record. There are some pretty decent podcasting packages for around 50 dollars, even less if you look around. If you have a mic already, then all you need is the software. DAW programs like Ableton Live are pretty use to use, even for beginners. They have a free demo you can try at http://www.ableton.com. Installing it and setting it up takes less than 5 minutes, and they have a tutorial built right to get you playing or recording in minutes. The Live demo will let you try out all of the features minus the ability to do final mix down, but you can buy just the features and instruments you want as you need them. If you don't have a mic, then think about getting a package with a mic and an audio interface (usually a USB port for mic/guitar/keyboard) that comes with the Lite version of Live, which will allow you to do the final mix down, although it won't have all the instruments and other things the full blown version has. It still works pretty well and you can upgrade at a discount. Live has a ton of features to explore. There are software synthesizers you can use with your keyboard if you don't have a piano type keyboard to hook up to your computer. There is also a sequencer that is like the roll on a player piano to create songs, loops and beats with. The sampler will allow you to do all kinds of things with sounds, like stretch, pitch change and add effects. And there are a ton of effects you can add like reverb, echo, distortion, etc. You can spend hours going through all the different features if you are interested. And like i said earlier, it is easy enough even for a total beginner.

Consider learning the guitar. You can buy one second hand so you do not spend too much money at the start, and there are lots of online videos to help you get started. You may want to write some songs down the line, as you enjoy creative writing.
Listening to the radio and drawing and writing are not wasting time! You are connecting to your creative side, and that is valuable.
If music does not work for you, consider manga, writing and illustrating your own comic books.
If you want to do something with your hands, what about sculpting? You can start really inexpensively, making your own clay with flour and salt, then moving on to paper clay and paper mache. You might like carving, a good way to begin is to use bar soap and some basic tools, just to try it out.
Once you find something that interests you, give it time, make lots of mistakes, and enjoy the process!
