There actually is some discrimination within the African-American and Asian communities.

Specifically, African-Americans with lighter skin have been held to a higher standard or are perceived to be more "beautiful" than our chocolate-mocha and dark-skinned brothers and sisters. They've even designated teams for themselves in social media. Team "Light-Skinned", Team "Dark-skinned". I find it ridiculous.

In Asian communities, there's always a battle of who is more dominant. Japanese? Chinese?

i have heard various people comment on their own personal preferences but that is in any ethnic group....nothing to do with being white.

Some people like to play "What would my life be like if such-and-such were different?" People, especially imaginative children, usually ponder on what it would be like to have different looks, live in different places or time periods, etc.

For white people surrounded by a lot of other white people, hair color does come into it. Girls are brought up believing to some extent that they define who they are by how they look, so they tend to wonder or wish that their lives would be different if they had different color hair.

It's just human imagination at work.

Some people are judgmental and some aren't. A lot of people choose who they go out with because they think that person looks hot or they are just lustful. I can't exactly give an explanation for the hair color bit, but a lot of people think blonds are stupid. I don't exactly agree with that, but ironically I know a lot of annoying and stupid blonds. Hair color can also be an attraction thing. I'm into black haired men with blue eyes. (I have brown hair that I dyed black and I have brown eyes) I ended up dating someone who had brown hair and blue eyes. It just really depends on the person and a lot of them just like to judge others for stupid ideas like hair color.
