Is it illegal to run Tor, the browser for the "deep" web? Could I get in trouble with the police?

I'm not planning on doing anything illegal once on there, just using for all the regular purposes I use the surface web.

By the way, the Feds are suspected of generating malware specifically aimed at Tor. So you shouldn't blindly trust Tor for anything.
