The best website to make a blog on would be WP. But not WP.com, use WP.org and get your own hosting and your own domain and hire a developer to throw up the site on your server space. This will be the most cost effective way to build a site. And you will have 100% copyrights as well as ownership of the website. Also, you will have a nice admin panel to make updates to the site as you wish. The only drawback is you need to hire a developer. Check out freelancer[dot]com. You could outsource this task pretty cheap. Don't be afraid to make an investment. You will be making lots of them in trial and error to reach the end goal...profitability!
