Advice on my Parkour training?
I'm asking this twice, once under running and once here.

I'm 14, smaller than many kids my age, and out of shape. I'm not fat, but I'm not ripped. I've always been fascinated with Parkour, but don't know where to start. I've looked online to see what exercises and how many I should be doing, but I can't find a site that matches my age.

Here's what I'm doing now. (Don't laugh about my pullups, I am out of shape) I do three or four reps a day of the following.
15 (nonstop) pushups
30 (nonstop) situps
2 pullups (pause in between)

I also spend two hours swimming Monday, Wednesday, and Friday playing Water Polo.

I'm also not sure on what to eat. Fruits, veggies, breads?

Any feedback is helpful. I'm committed to this, I'll do anything within reason.

Hey man what's up! I love helping out new comers to parkour so let me see if I can set you in the right direction.

Though it's not finished yet I actually made a website geared toward new traceurs (parkour practitioners). So if you want you can check it out here: parkourelements.webs.com.

To be entirely honest with you the best way to start parkour is to just start. It's great that you're doing conditioning workouts and whatnot but you shouldn't focus all your energy on just that. As you grow and progress you'll become stronger. So keep doing what you're doing and just have fun because 9 times out of 10 people are a lot stronger than they think.

As for diet it can get kinda tricky to tell you exactly what to eat since that depends on a lot of factors but as a general rule eat when you're hungry and try to eat healthy. It's a great idea to work on cutting out all carbonated drinks from your diet and don't drink Gatorade. Water will always be the best option. Fruits and veggies are great and should always be included in every meal (probably more veggies than fruits) but try to cut bread a little more. It's not always that healthiest option.

Here's a youtube playlist by a great informative on healthy training and diet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmqlxXdP-...KlW5fWisoa

Some other great resources to check out are La Flair Parkour, Parkour Generations, Parkour Visions, Fifth-ape Parkour (Colin Pistel), ParkourScience, Kyle "EPIC" Mendoza, Daniel Ilibaca, and of course make sure to check back into Parkour Elements (my website) for updates. If you have a facebook you can find us on there.

Also finding a group of people or someone who teaches will probably be the most effective way to progress since they'll be there to help you out so take some time to look around your area for anyone.

Well I hope this answered some of your questions but I'm sure you have more so please don't hesitate to ask! You can find my e mail address under the 'Contact Us' tab on my website.
