I need an idiot's guide to how to put social media icons on my website?
I have a 'share' widget , but now I want to put icons on directing people to my facebook page, my youtube channel, and my blog. I'm finding all the stuff on the net overwhelming.
Is there an advantage in using a plug in or widget (I don't know what these terms mean really!), over say, just inserting a image of an icon with a link to the page? If a plug in/widget, can anyone recommend an idiot proof one that I can use in dreamweaver? Or is there a good widget that does all this, including my sharing? Ads |

All social networking sites have their own code/apis that you can use and install. Example for Facebook:

I figured I'd add an answer to your first question. In the real world, a widget is pretty pointless. The only way it would be different is if you knew all of your visitors were facebook fanatics, then you should put some actual effort into all of those widgets and friend photo page junk. Otherwise, a simple image link is just fine in the eyes of Google and web browsers.
