my desktop uses windows 7 and its connected to the network i can easly access server but cant access internet?

Sounds like you have a fixed IP for your network configured under the general tab instead of the alternate config.
Go into network connection settings -select internet protocol TCP/IP -Click settings-You should have a new box with 2 tabs general and alternative. (MAKE A NOTE OF THESE IF YOU DON'T KNOW THEM ALREADY) The general tab is the one for the internet so should be set to obtain an IP address and DNS automatically. The alternative tab is where the settings for your home/office network need to be, so add them here. Close all the windows and after a few seconds delay it should be configured. Voila |
