Wi-Fi internet connection?

I have dsl internet, and just got a laptop and want wi-fi. I bought the thing you need for wireless (it is called a linksys) and when I set up the router, the router works but there is not internet connection. help?

Then it sounds like you gave not configured the router correctly. Since you have DSL you need to configure the router for a PPPOE internet connection and type in the username and password you use to connect to your internet service provider.

Also make sure the DSL modem is plugged into the routers WAN (Internet) port and not one of the regular ethernet ports.

ahh.. this is common. connect the router to the internet service provider modem, install the CD that came with the router, repair the connection (if possible) restart computer. this should work.
