It isn't just pit bulls that are banned. It is pit bull TYPES also. Type means any dog matching MEASUREMENTS set out by your council regardless of breed or mix. If the dogs height/muzzle/length/headspan etc match those that the council have deemed illegal, you can have the dog destroyed.

A cross between a staffy and a presa canario or something else. I watched a programme before about people looking for people walking pitbulls and they knew one person had one but they claimed it was a staffy cross so they couldn't do anything about it. Maybe don't make it so easy for people to report you for having a pitbull? your probably drawing more attention to the fact and anyone could easily email in and report you.. It would be a pity for the dog to be put to sleep but it would also be a pity for it to rip someones face off. I suggest you don't breed from it its not fair on the dogs.
