Why does my internet say I am in Italy when I am in America?

Why does my internet say I am in Italy when I am in America?
When I log on to a site, even Yahoo, it immediately gives me the Italian version of that site. But I am in the US. I checked my isp on a site and it shows my location as being in the US and where I am, only when I surf the internet does it tell me I am in Italy. I don't understand this.
This has been more of an annoyance than an inconvenience, until the other day when I tried to log onto a site and do their special offers, for points, but everything it gave me was in Italian. Sad My paypal account now tries to "argue" with me about my location and I have to switch to the US site every time I log in. Its just really becoming a pain!
Is there a way to fix this? I am on multiple computers throughout the day, at my home; a desktop that runs Windows 8 and a laptop that runs Vista. Both have this problem. Please help so I don't have to learn Italian (I'm terrible at learning different languages! lol) Thanks!

You can do the following dear:
1-call the isp and tell him they might have been switching a lot
2-if the isp doesn't do anything you can change it to another isp
3-if all above don't work for you buy a VPN liscence from hidemyass.com
Take care

The only way this could happen is if you are using a proxy server based in Italy, so, if you're using a proxy, you need to find one based in the US. With an Italian server, naturally you will show as being in Italy to any site you access with that server.

If you aren't using a proxy, contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and ask why you are having this issue. If you are in the US, your ISP server should be in your approximate location, not in Italy.

Beware the spammers recommending vpnmaster. Vpnmaster is a total fraud and scam.
