FRAPS, Sony Vegas./
Webcam, I am not sure never done that before. You can do that with XSPLIT though. With XSPLIT you can stream, record, and record you webcam at the same time, and show your webcam to the viewers while streaming, and while recording that stream onto your hard drive. ( Hopefully I didn't confuse you. ) Enjoy, and good luck with your YouTube channel! Ads |

For your PC you'll need a good internet connection, lots of hard drive space (500 Gigs minimum because gaming files will be large) and a decent video card that will let you play and record games at decent settings.
For a video editor I use Camtasia Studio 8 which is very simple. You can get a free 30 day trail from their website to see if you like it. Sony Vegas is an excellent editor but has a large learning curve, but worth the time. Unfortunately both are pretty expensive (around 300 - 500 depending on where you live). There are free editors out there that are decent though. For video capture to record your game footage Fraps and Bandicam are the two most used. I found Bandicam is great if your recording video from a browser based game since it lets you shrink the recording screen easier. Fraps is what you'll generally use though. Both programs will cost around 30 dollars For a mic I use a Blue Snowball which costs around 50 dollars and works really well. There are newer ones like the Yeti that I've heard mixed reviews on. Webcams can be super cheap to super expensive. Whatever one you get you want the highest picture quality and the ability to record in HD Hope that helps https://www.youtube.com/user/TheWolfx1vp |

Bandicam is better than Fraps in my opinion. It has presets for YouTube and it encodes the files for you - saving you space and time! It also has an option for recording your mic and game audio and mixing them - the 'two sound mixing' option.
Furthermore it is lighter and causes less lag and Fraps can't record your desktop, but Bandicam can record both your desktop and your games. |
