Why the mind games?

Ok so I broke off it off with a guy and some nasty things was said between the both if us. He asked me not to contact him so I deleted his number so I wouldn't be inclined to text him little to my dismay I Facebook messaged him and simply asked why he hated me? Simple enough then on a whim I deactivated my page now he saw the message posted several times on fb left comments with his friend (I have a backpage) now it's been about 8hours since I sent the message but at 7:30 am the next day he sends me this long drawn out text to this simple question I asked "why do you hate me?" And yet again feels the need to be nasty and mean. Why did he take so long to write back? If he doesn't want to talk to me why even respond?

He probably got angry at how you wrote the message, as if you were a victim (not saying you are not the victim). If nasty things were said, he probably feels like HE is the victim and feels like he must defend himself. Just leave it alone would be my advice
