MY audio device is not working that is my computer's sound not working!!!?
i have a dell precision computer with windows xp. Since my computer had little space on local disk c
i had to remove some programs but i also unknowingly deleted SIGMATEL AUDIO (i think this may be the cause for the problem)..............So then again i installed SIGMATEL but when i viewed it in the device manager it had an icon with a YELLOW EXCLAMATION MARK. Furthermore when i opened sigmatel from control panel it said " sigmatel audio driver is inaccessible. Please make sure it is installed and enabled"

i have been sitting here trying to solve this problem for 2 hours!!! pls any body any solutions?

now you can do 2 things, 1 is to try to restore to previews state, but that will only work if you had set a restore point. check this link

2, if you had not set a restore point, then you will need to format your laptop, but just c drive nothing else

there is no other way

check the bios and make sure the sound card is enable , now in most cases with dell have to reinstall the chipset from dell.com drivers and download and then install the sound card driver
