Windows Update without a internet connection?
I just shut down my computer that's running a Windows 7 OS and it displayed the 'installing 1 of 1 updates' screen before powering off. The computer was not plugged into the internet at the time and as far as I'm aware, it can't install updates without an internet connection. Is there any cause for alarm?
There are apparently viruses that can fake Windows updates. http://news.cnet.com/8301-10805_3-574472...ws-update/ browe66 Thanks but I'm almost certain that the computer started up without being connected to the internet. Ads |

its ok, when your computer was plugged into the internet it probably downloaded the update and saved it on the hard-drive and then installed it at shut down. also if u are worried u may have an infection download free version of malwarebytes at malwarebytes.com
