Any fix for inconsistent ability to assign contacts to lists in Yahoo mail?

Add a new contact to Yahoo mail and attempt to save it to an email distribution list. Yahoo mail says it is saving the list preference and then does not do so. Occasionally with a new contact it will be successful with the list assignment but more times than not it fails. Have tried to assign in both Explorer and Google Chrome with same result. Help is appreciated!
