Whats this strange phenomenon on Facebook?
I've noticed most people have 400+ friends, but they never say a word to each other. And half of them they probably don't even know. They don't socialize, it's like facebook is just an advertising site for people to show off their pictures, make their life look all great and say Hey look at me!!

Attention satisfaction. 99.9% of people need it and attempt to get it in some form or fashion.

well who wants to be the guy with 9 friends? nobody. everyone feels like they are accepted or liked by the people they are friends with on facebook. its also the same idea as if you and another friend run in different circles and both your groups hang out. yet you all dont know eachother there is now an oppurtunity to meet and become friends, also facebook isnt just about friends its about groups. like school or work or family.

Excellent point. It's the hub of people living their lives digitally. Friends are people you communicate with on a personal level.
Facebook has completely exploited the concept of friendship entirely. I think sharing pictures is a good thing, however, when it starts creating obsession, gossip, and a superficial lifestyle, it becomes a tool for evil.

The mainstream media joined forces with government in the enslavement of the general public using technologies such as facebook and twitter. It's the beta test platform for global governance. Resistance is futile, you and your pathetic little lives will be assimiltaed.
