Why is it only my laptop that has trouble with internet?
I bought a gaming laptop awhile ago and it has always had some trouble with internet connections for some reason. I just chocked it up to being very picky about connections and just kept it connected via wired means. We recently got a brand new router and modem so i thought that might fix the problem, however it just made it worse. Now even when hooked up through ethernet i get maybe 5 minutes of good connection before losing it again. I checked with the others in my house and they all have perfect connections, better even when compared to my gaming laptop. I defragged, virus scanned, and ran through all the modem steps to restart and still no luck. So i was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to why i am having so many problems.

Install Zonealarm Firewall, open the program manager, disallow the internet connectivity for unknown applications, you are done.

Here's a simple little thing you can do to increase your bandwidth by at least 20%.
1.) log on as Administrator. 2.) start - run - type gpedit.msc 3.) expand "local computer policy" 4.) then expand "administrative templates" 5.) then expand "network branch" 6.) Highlight the "QoS Packet Scheduler" 7.) on right window double click "limit reservable bandwidth" 8.) on setting tab check the "enabled" 9.) change "Bandwidth limit %" to 0 You're done.It would be a good idea to reboot after this. |
