Oh dear, it seems as if you have misspelled creativity. Perhaps your public school education has failed you, which is exactly what this is all about. Missouri is at risk of losing a big chunk of federal money because their schools have ranked very low. Many schools were warned that if they didn't clean up their act they would be closed. Many of the schools in Missouri are being closed for failing to teach their students. Clearly, something needs to be done.

Common core is the new state standard for teaching, and it is here to stay. Its primary focus on the goal of learning and the child has to lean the basic steps before he can move on to the next step, or level. Not all children learn at the same rate. In the past if a child was unable to keep up he was left behind. I really like this idea. The public school system is antiquated and it is time they did something to improve their teaching methods.

Teachers can be as creative as they want and the state does not dictate how teachers should teach as long as they show results. This kindergarten teacher is either lying, uninformed or simply unable to teach, and if that is the case she is failing the children.
