my internet connection is down!! HELP!!!?

my computer worked fine until one day when i went on the internet it just...didnt!! i immediately clicked diagnose connection problem and came up with 3 options;
1. A problem with your network router or broadband modem might be preventing an internet connection.
2. automatically get new IP settings for the network adapter "wireless network connection"
3. reset the network adapter " wireless network connection"
i tried all three of these options and none of the worked.
i then realised it was not the internet that was the problem but the computer itself.i ran a mcaffe security full scan and when it was 87% done it blacked out saying there was a problem and my computer un expectantlly turned off i tried this twice more with similar results.

can someone please help me solve this problem??????
