i searched someone on google but no one came up? is it a scam?
okk so my bestfriend was messaged on facebook by some girl. she told him she lived in Atlanta and gave her first and last name and she claimed to be 20. we searched her on google but no one of her age came up.. is it likely that she lied about something or could she really just not have anything on record? or is their a certain site that would give me definite matches?

you cant simply look up an individual by google searching them, unless of course they are important (or dangerous) to society. if anything, white pages are the best place really. generally if its someone you dont know, stay away!

Look on Spokeo.com and see if she comes up
And if she refuses a video chat or tries to say she doesn't have a webcam or her cam is broken then you know she's a scammer A real girl is not going to message a random guy on Facebook for her own safety. Especially if she's not in the same city and they didn't go to school together or have loads of friends in common. Anyone you don't know messaging you is a scammer and needs to be reported to Facebook And it's VERY easy to tell a fake profile - a real girl who is 20 is never going to have less than 200 friends and most of her friends will be girl. A scammer doesn't have many friends or has almost all guy friends - a real girl will be tagged in more pictures posted by her friends than she has posted of herself. A scammer only posts her own pictures but is never tagged in pictures posted by anyone else - a real girl will have friends and family members constantly posting things on her wall -- "Look at the cute puppies in this video", "I know you'll love these shoes!", "Can you believe what happened on Scandal last night?", "Great to see you last night!", "Are you going to Dan's party?" -- normal things that people post on a wall. A scammer only posts their own things or has men commenting on their pictures |
