Most WiFi modems have the option to connect via ethernet or USB cables. I use ethernet for my PC and WiFi for my laptop.

Wired connections are always better than wifi! Wired used less overhead, does not need extra encryption, and is not as subject to interference. All wifi is a replacement for ethernet cable if ethernet is as easy to connect USE it! Both connect you to the exact same system!
