Internet Connection Sharing or Direct Internet Access?
Hi, what is the difference between ICS and Direct Internet Access?

I connected 5 computers to a switch, not a router, and the router in turn is connected to the cable modem. The 5 computers have access to internet very fast and good regardless of turning on or off...whatever. Does that mean that I am using Direct Internet Access? And Internet Connection Sharing does not apply for me?? So with this configuration ICS has nothing to do with me??

You are directly connected to the router pretty much. With ICS you use a Windows PC to share out your internet connection instead of the router. ICS has nothing to do with your set up.
